Glasswing International, a nonprofit organization working in education, mental health and community development, has welcomed model and entrepreneur Valentina Ferrer to its Board of Directors. Ms. Ferrer joins the Board after working closely with Glasswing as a dedicated student mentor in New York City.
A native of Córdoba, Argentina, Ms. Ferrer was crowned Miss Argentina in 2014 and represented her country at the Miss Universe pageant. She has worked as a model with brands including ALO Yoga, Chloe, Hugo Boss, Nike, Michael Kors, Agua Bendita and Ralph Lauren. In 2019, Ms. Ferrer co-founded KAPOWDER, a line of supplements containing ethically sourced ingredients that are vegan and cruelty-, gluten- and GMO-free.
As a mentor, Valentina engages high school students in a range of experiential activities that help them develop resilience, empathy and a growth mindset, while instilling confidence and motivating learning and participation. At the 10th Annual Glasswing Gala in 2024, where Ms. Ferrer was recognized as the Gala Honoree, she announced plans to support educational programs in Colombia in partnership with J Balvin’s Vibra en Alta Foundation, thanks to support from I AM I World.
“It has been an honor to spend time with Glasswing students and learn more about what they need in order to thrive,” said Ms. Ferrer. “Every one of their stories inspires me and motivates me to make a difference in young people’s lives. I’m grateful for the opportunity to join Glasswing’s Board and contribute to the organization’s impact in New York and Latin America.”
“Valentina has such a clear vision of the world and its possibilities,” said Celina de Sola, co-founder and president of Glasswing. “We’re thrilled that she will be bringing that vision to the Glasswing Board, where she will help us reach even more young people and communities.”
