Vaiire has hired sustainability and engineering professional Kurt Duska as Director of Technical Sales, formalizing a long-standing consulting relationship as the company continues to expand its polymer solutions and materials services.
Duska has more than 40 years of experience in engineering, plastics manufacturing, recycling, and sustainability strategy. His work has included supporting post-industrial recycling programs, recycled-content product development, and material recovery initiatives for manufacturers across multiple industries, including food, medical, and consumer goods.
Prior to joining Vaiire, Duska worked with the company as an external consultant, contributing to sustainability and materials-focused projects.
“Kurt has partnered with us on a number of initiatives over the years,” said Thomas Bean, vice president at Vaiire. “As our work has grown in scope and complexity, adding his engineering experience supports our teams and strengthens how we serve manufacturers.”
Duska also serves as an Executive in Residence at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, where he works with students and faculty on applied engineering and sustainability programs connected to manufacturing systems.
At Vaiire, Duska will work closely with plastic molders and brands to identify and implement cost effective recycled content opportunities. His background as a molder and recycler offers unique hands-on support to drive sustainable solutions. Expect him to be at your press, pouring material in the hopper and collaborating with your team.
“Kurt’s background complements the capabilities we have already built,” said Wesley Ballou, president of Vaiire. “As demand grows for engineered, real-world sustainability solutions, expanding our internal expertise helps us continue delivering consistent results for customers.”
