Steelcase Announces New Chief Legal Officer and Secretary

Steelcase (NYSE: SCS), a global design, research and thought leader in the world of work, announced today Megan Blazina has been appointed as vice president, chief legal officer and secretary, effective March 17, 2025. Blazina will report to Sara Armbruster, Steelcase president and CEO, and will join the senior executive team.

With over 24 years of experience, Blazina will take on a comprehensive leadership role, serving as general counsel and overseeing all legal services. Additionally, she will lead several other departments, including compliance, corporate strategy, global trade, government affairs and sustainability.

Blazina comes to Steelcase from Whirlpool Corporation in Benton Harbor, Mich., where she most recently held the position of North American vice president & general counsel for the company’s largest business unit. Her extensive legal background includes litigation, commercial and e-commerce matters, compliance, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, ESG, regulatory matters, corporate governance and government relations. She has held leadership roles across Europe and Asia markets and led global initiatives in e-commerce expansion, government relations strategies and crisis management protocols.

Before joining Whirlpool in 2013, Blazina held legal roles at Carlson Companies, Inc., Foley & Mansfield PLLP, and she served as a law clerk for the 4th Judicial District in Hennepin County, Minn. She earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Minnesota and a law degree from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She is registered to practice law in Minnesota and Michigan.
