SKYBOXE 5G Router Earns FCC, PTCRB Cert Ahead of Launch with UScellular

SKYBOXE and UScellular partnership announcing Q4 2025 product launch.

Certified Fixed Wireless Access Device to be Available for Purchase with UScellular Data Service in Q4 2025

SKYBOXE®, the company that’s delivering on the promise of 5G, today announced two major product milestones for its flagship device, the SKYBOXE 5G Fixed Wireless Access Router. The company has officially received equipment authorization from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and certification from the PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB), paving the way for a commercial launch of its certified 5G router with wireless carrier UScellular.

These certifications ensure that the SKYBOXE 5G Router meets the highest technical and regulatory standards required for deployment on U.S. mobile networks. The SKYBOXE solution combines gateway and routing functionality into a single, easy-to-use device designed to replace traditional wired internet access for homes and businesses. By operating over 5G instead of coax or fiber, it delivers faster setup, excellent reliability, and high-speed data connectivity. With just a single power cord and no need for coax or fiber hookups, the SKYBOXE 5G router offers true plug-and-play simplicity. No trenching, no technicians, and no bundles required.

The SKYBOXE 5G Router will launch in partnership with UScellular and is expected to be available for purchase in the fourth quarter of 2025 by consumers and small businesses initially in several of UScellular’s largest markets. Through this collaboration, SKYBOXE will deliver 5G service with download speeds of up to 300 Mbps*, giving consumers a powerful alternative to traditional broadband.

“Our 5G router paired with UScellular’s powerful, high-speed data plan is designed to give consumers what they’ve been asking for:  fast, reliable internet that works when and where they need it,” said Rob Shambro, CEO and co-founder of SKYBOXE. “Many off-the-shelf routers sold online or in retail stores lack FCC and PTCRB certification, which means they may be unstable or even removed from service by the carrier. We’ve built SKYBOXE to meet the gold standard of carrier compliance, so our customers can connect with confidence.”

With FCC and PTCRB certifications in hand, SKYBOXE is entering the final phase of launch preparation. As a certified reseller of UScellular’s 5G service, SKYBOXE will offer fixed wireless internet plans with generous data thresholds, ideal for cord-cutters, remote workers, and anyone seeking an alternative to expensive cable and fiber bundles.
