Disruptive 5G Internet Company Prepares Launch Markets in Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee
SKYBOXE®, the new 5G company that’s on a mission to “unwire” American households, today offered a first glimpse at the effortless setup experience behind its upcoming SKYBOXE 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Router – a device designed to radically simplify home internet connectivity.
In an age of tangled cables, technician appointments, and painful modem resets, SKYBOXE is taking a different approach: one wire, one power outlet, zero headaches. With a design so simple, SKYBOXE aims to bring high-speed 5G internet to underserved communities without the need for coaxial or fiber cabling.
“We’re building a router that anyone can set up – no installers, no cable mess, no calling your tech-savvy nephew for help,” said Rob Shambro, CEO of SKYBOXE. “If you can plug in a coffee maker, you can get online with SKYBOXE. We’re stripping away all the nonsense that traditional ISPs built into the experience. It should’ve been this simple all along!”
The company also announced its initial launch markets, with SKYBOXE service rolling out first in:
- Madison, Wisconsin
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Des Moines, Iowa
- Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- Knoxville, Tennessee
These markets were chosen based on a combination of robust 5G infrastructure, underserved residential and rural access, and strong early demand for alternatives to cable-based ISPs.
One Box. One Cord. No Nonsense.
SKYBOXE is positioning itself as a bold new authority in 5G-powered home internet, leveraging licensed carrier networks to deliver broadband speeds without the need for fiber, DSL, or satellite. The SKYBOXE 5G Router is designed to use hotspot-style data plans, meaning a SKYBOXE router uses a SKYBOXE-issued SIM card for connectivity. These SIMs are data-only and optimized specifically for the SKYBOXE hardware. They are not intended for use in smartphones or other mobile devices. At launch, SKYBOXE will offer download speeds of up to 300 Mbps* with performance.
