Sevensix Launches Optical Frequency Comb Generator “Frush” in the U.S. Market

Sevensix Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yosuke Hane) is pleased to announce the full-scale launch of its proprietary optical frequency comb generator, Frush, in the U.S. market starting October 2025.

Frush is a next-generation optical platform that enables the generation of optical frequency combs—essential for advanced optical communications, quantum optics, and precision spectroscopy—with remarkably simple operation. Designed for both research and industrial environments, Frush delivers exceptional reliability and repeatability. The system has already earned strong endorsements from leading universities and research institutions in Japan and abroad.

As part of the U.S. rollout, Sevensix is partnering with a nationwide network of distributors and technical support providers to ensure responsive local service. This structure is tailored to meet the rigorous reliability and support expectations of American researchers and engineers.

Features

Frush is a highly reliable and robust EO-based optical comb generator that utilizes a single dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator combined with Sevensix’s proprietary auto-bias control system. With turnkey operation, Frush generates a stable optical frequency comb spectrum within just 10 seconds of startup.

Frush accepts two external signal sources—a narrow-linewidth laser and an RF signal generator—allowing users to fully leverage their existing equipment. This enables the generation of optical frequency combs with minimal initial investment and offers the flexibility to easily switch signal sources depending on the application or environment.

By passing the Frush output through a high-power EDFA and a highly nonlinear optical fiber, the optical comb spectrum can be broadened to several tens of nanometers and compressed to sub-picosecond pulse durations. Additionally, Frush enables advanced functionalities such as phase-locking two narrow-linewidth lasers separated by approximately 300 GHz. A wide range of upgrades is available to meet diverse application needs.
