Rivermont Schools in Sterling, VA to Relocate to Expanded Campus in Reston

New facility will open in August 2025, offering enhanced learning and therapy spaces to support more students

Rivermont Schools is proud to announce its Sterling campus relocation to Reston, to provide more students in Virginia with access to academic programming infused with therapeutic support. Serving students for more than 35 years in the Commonwealth, Rivermont Schools are private, licensed, therapeutic day schools serving students ages 5–22 with emotional and behavioral challenges, autism, and other special needs. With 17 campuses across Virginia, Rivermont Schools provide a safe, supportive, and structured environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Rivermont Sterling campus is preparing to relocate from its current location (45305 Catalina Ct, Suite 101 Sterling, VA 20166) to a newly renovated and purpose-built facility at 11411 Isaac Newton Square South, Reston, VA, 20190. The move is expected to be completed by August 2025, in time for the start of the 2025–2026 school year.

“What excites me most about our move to Reston is the opportunity it creates for our students to learn and grow in an environment built just for them and those we wish to serve,” said Aniqua Sterling, Principal at Rivermont Schools’ Sterling campus. “Our students face unique challenges, and they deserve unique solutions. This new campus represents our commitment to providing not just education, but hope, a place where every student can discover their potential and build toward a brighter future.”

The school is making this move to support continued growth and to provide an even better learning environment for its students. The new campus will feature modern classrooms, life skills rooms, therapy and specialty areas, and an outdoor playground—all intentionally designed to meet the needs of Rivermont students.

“This move represents more than a new building. It’s an investment in the future of our students and staff,” said Brandon Timmons, Regional Vice President at Rivermont Schools. “Every detail of the new campus has been designed to support student growth, empower our team, and strengthen the positive outcomes we strive for every day.”

Families and community partners will be invited to tour the new campus in the coming months as renovations near completion.
