NPS brings international experience and scale to Relativity’s commercial deployments of hollow-core fiber (HCF) technology
Relativity Networks, the leading at-scale provider of next-generation fiber-optic technology, has entered into a strategic partnership with Network Planning Solutions (NPS), to support commercial deployments of hollow-core fiber (HCF) infrastructure.
Relativity Networks’ HCF is the next-generation fiber-optic technology designed for the most demanding applications in AI, cloud computing, telecommunications and high-frequency financial trading. The company’s patented HCF cable transmits light through an air-filled core, enabling significantly lower latency, higher data throughput, and greater power handling compared to traditional silica-core fiber.
UK-based NPS, an international provider of fiber-optic installation and support services, will be the inaugural member of Relativity Networks’ Trusted Installation Partner program. Under this program, Relativity Networks closely collaborates with installation companies to train them in the specifics of deploying Relativity’s HCF technology.
NPS brings extensive experience in fiber-network design and deployment, including early-stage HCF projects since 2019. The company’s proven methodology covers the entire project lifecycle, from planning and pre-staging to handover and ongoing support, making NPS a dependable partner as Relativity Networks scales its global production and installation efforts.
As part of the partnership, Relativity Networks and NPS have worked through hundreds of splices of the company’s fiber, applying the latest methods including rotational alignment and interferometer inspection of cleaves. These efforts are a critical aspect of commercialization, demonstrating to customers how hollow-core fiber can be deployed effectively and seamlessly integrated into their existing infrastructure.
“We are excited to bring our international expertise to Relativity Networks and its customers. By working together, we can meet the most demanding needs of digital infrastructure customers and help them realise the significant benefits of hollow-core fibre,” said Daniel Preston, CEO of NPS.
Relativity Networks founder and CEO Jason Eichenholz noted, “Everyone in the industry is struggling to understand how to integrate something new into their ecosystem. There are many questions about HCF and how it connects to existing systems. We are addressing this by having a trusted installation partner like NPS, that has significant experience installing HCF across multiple installations and is an important part of Relativity’s ecosystem, which includes everything from fiber to cabling to connecterization to network design. NPS is our boots on the ground for our final phase of installation for our customers, offering a streamlined and reliable path as the industry moves toward a new era in optical communications.”
The NPS partnership further bolsters Relativity Networks’ ability to provide HCF technology at scale, following Relativity’s previously announced cable-supply partnership with Prysmian.
