New features and tools help students study smarter and save time
Today, global learning platform Quizlet announced a series of transformative platform enhancements to help students unlock a smarter, more efficient, and personalized learning experience in the upcoming school year.
With the proliferation of AI-driven content across the web, students want content that is accurate and relevant. To address these expectations, Quizlet is enhancing its platform with new tools to meet the evolving needs of students. These advancements lean into Quizlet’s vast library of user-generated content from real students and teachers to help students stay motivated, engaged, and achieve their learning goals.
The new experience includes features that leverage the power of AI to unlock more personalized learning by surfacing hyper-relevant content, fostering community among learners, and driving impactful outcomes via increased comprehension. These include:
- Reimagined mobile home feed: Students who use Quizlet daily are twice as likely to see a significant improvement in their grades.1 The all-new mobile app includes a smart, personalized home feed that suggests what to study next based on the school students attend and the specific courses they’re enrolled in. By tapping into insights from what other students are actively studying, Quizlet delivers timely and relevant recommendations tailored to each learner’s goals, study habits, and performance. With new progress visuals and hyper-relevant content suggestions, it’s easier than ever for learners to stay on track, build confidence, and see results every day.
- Upgraded Learn: More than four in five students (82%) achieve A’s after using Quizlet’s Learn feature.2 Now, Learn is smarter and more adaptive, accelerated by AI/ML enhancements that support increased grading capabilities, adjust question difficulty based on how students are tracking, and offer more motivational cues to keep students engaged. These updates help students zero in on what they haven’t mastered yet, removing the guesswork and accelerating learning with greater accuracy and efficiency, all while delivering a more personalized experience that adapts to each learner’s needs and maximizes their progress.
- Community-based Study Groups: Students today are increasingly looking to build community and connection. With 89% of students likely to recommend Quizlet to a friend,1 Study Groups offer a new way to stay connected with classmates and stay motivated while studying. Students can invite friends to join a shared study session, observe who’s actively studying the same content, and track group progress in real time. They can mark terms based on what the group knows or is still learning, and highlight areas that require more focus. Study Groups foster a sense of shared momentum to boost collective learning, even when students aren’t in the same physical space.
- Study Bites: Just like a stretch before a workout, Study Bites helps ease students into their study session by recommending not only what to study, but how to study it based on their unique needs and context. Whether it’s a quick review before class or prep for a big exam, Study Bites guides learners to the right study mode for that moment, eliminating the guesswork and helping them get started faster. Consistent and repetitive studying is proven to help with retention, and 98% of students feel that Quizlet is effective in helping them recall information.1 By promoting efficient, habitual studying—especially when time is limited—Study Bites supports better outcomes, with 92% of students feeling that Quizlet saves them time compared to other study methods.1
- Deeper course-powered experience: The most requested feature from Quizlet users this year was more intelligent ways to organize and surface relevant materials at the right time. In response, Quizlet introduced a new update that lets students tag study materials by specific milestones —such as upcoming exams, quizzes, or assignments—enabling Quizlet to create a more personalized and streamlined study experience. Within the new folders, students can access course-specific content that’s tailored by machine learning and peer activity so students can quickly discover the most effective content for their specific course, standardized test, or personal learning goal. These enhancements are designed to reduce time searching so students can spend more time learning.
“At Quizlet, we’re building for outcomes, and we know that students have different goals, whether it’s better grades, a more efficient study experience, or a boost in confidence when taking a test,” said Quizlet CEO Kurt Beidler. “The new platform experience leverages our legacy of leadership in AI-native tools to bring together hyper-relevant content, advanced study tools, community, and best-in-class GenAI for a cohesive experience. Built on content from fellow students and educators, we’re making learning more personalized and adaptive.”
Quizlet is also further improving the teacher experience, having recently launched the “Assign an activity” feature, allowing educators to assign study sets to students and monitor progress free of charge. With the “Assign an activity” tool, educators can encourage students to study at their own pace while choosing the best activities for learning objectives. Plus, teachers can help promote consistent study habits among students, enhance accountability, and maintain oversight of their academic progress.
These features will be available to all users aged 13 and over in the U.S. this fall.
