Outschool and Sora Schools Partner to Expand Summer Learning Options

New initiative offers live, project-based camps and discounted access for kids this summer

Outschool, an online education platform offering live classes for learners ages 1–18, is launching a new partnership with Sora Schools, a virtual middle and high school, to offer a slate of summer learning programs aimed at families in alternative education settings.

The collaboration introduces Outschool x Sora Summer Camps, a series of live, weeklong online sessions, primarily for students ages 10 to 14. The camps focus on real-world projects and mentorship from experienced educators. Topics range from game design and digital art to creative writing and Pokemon character creation.

In addition to the camp offerings, families will have access to discounted programming: Sora families will receive a $40 discount on any Outschool course, while Outschool families can save 20% on Sora-led summer camps.

“When kids have voice, choice, and connection, they don’t just learn more, they enjoy learning,” said Amir Nathoo, CEO of Outschool. “This partnership allows us to offer even more opportunities for students to stay engaged on their own terms. We have received unsolicited outstanding feedback from parents and students alike on the classes”

“Sora and Outschool are both committed to learner-led education,” said Garrett Smiley, CEO of Sora Schools. “These camps are a natural extension of our shared mission to make education more relevant and accessible.”

The live camps will be taught in small-group settings by professionals with industry or expert teaching experience. Pricing starts at $19 per hour. Both organizations believe the format emphasizes project-based learning and real-time interaction over traditional lectures or worksheets.
