Novogradac Promotes Peter Lawrence to Chief Public Policy Officer

Elevation Reflects Novogradac’s Commitment to Public Policy Leadership

National accounting and consulting firm Novogradac today announced the promotion of Peter Lawrence to Chief Public Policy Officer. In this role, Lawrence leads the company’s public policy department, collaborates on the development and execution of Novogradac’s public policy strategy – engaging with a wide range of stakeholders regarding legislative and regulatory developments – and provides insights and guidance to leadership on policy matters.

Lawrence has been with Novogradac for more than a decade and played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s public policy strategy while advocating for legislative measures that support affordable housing and community development.

Lawrence previously served as Novogradac’s Director of Public Policy and Government Relations. Before joining Novogradac Consulting LLP, Lawrence was the senior director of public policy and government affairs for Enterprise Community Partners, where he led the execution of Enterprise’s policy and advocacy agenda. While at Enterprise, he helped found the Affordable Rental Housing A.C.T.I.O.N. (A Call to Invest in Our Neighborhoods) Campaign, the big tent industry coalition of coalitions focused on the low-income housing tax credit.

He has served on the board of directors of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and the New Markets Tax Credit Coalition. Lawrence was also previously a legislative and policy associate at the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA), a housing policy analyst for the Center on Budget Policies and Priorities, a congressional fellow for Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island in his capacity as the Ranking Member of the Senate Housing and Transportation Subcommittee and a presidential management fellow for the Office of Policy Development & Research at the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
