To commemorate its 40th anniversary, Neal Gerber Eisenberg (NGE) is pleased to announce it has made a $40,000 donation to All Stars Project of Chicago.
The All Stars Project (ASP) is a national nonprofit organization that provides innovative, performance-based afterschool development opportunities to inner-city youth in partnership with caring adults. In Chicago, the program focuses on uplifting young people from the city’s south and west sides by providing robust afterschool programs, including internships, mentoring, resume-building, mock interviews, and industry-specific workshops.
NGE has had a close connection with ASP of Chicago from the very start: the chapter was founded in 2007 by former NGE employee, David Cherry. And last March, NGE COO Sonia Menon was appointed chair of the ASP of Chicago Board and she also serves on the ASP’s national board.
“Our legacy as a law firm is not defined solely by cases won or deals closed, but by the difference we’ve made in Chicago,” said Robert G. Gerber, Managing Partner of NGE. “As NGE turns 40 in the city we have long called home, we couldn’t be more proud to support an organization that opens doors for the next generation of Chicagoans in such engaging and impactful ways. This gift reflects our belief in the young people of this city: their potential, their brilliance, and their futures. It reflects our belief in the power of performance, mentorship, and opportunity. And it reflects our belief that our responsibility as a firm extends well beyond the walls we work in.”
Each year, NGE attorneys and staff spend time actively engaged with ASP programs, be it hosting the Leslie J. Raffel Development School for Youth workshops, providing mentorship, or offering paid internships to ASP participants. NGE also demonstrates its commitment to the Chicago community through its pro bono work, its near‑universal support of the Chicago Bar Association’s Investing in Justice Campaign, ongoing sustainability efforts, and long‑standing partnerships with community organizations that reflect the firm’s values.

Since its inception, ASP of Chicago has touched the lives of over 45,000 young people. Recently, the organization completed an $11 million campaign to establish the Hub for Afterschool Development in the historic Printer’s Row Neighborhood in downtown Chicago.
The firm presented a check to Cherry and Horn at a reception celebrating the firm’s anniversary on Feb. 3.
