GED® Testing Service is proud to celebrate the second annual National GED Day on September 16, 2025 — a day dedicated to honoring the millions of learners who have transformed their lives by earning their GED credential.
With more than 21 million graduates and 700,000 learners served each year, the GED program has been a launchpad for brighter futures for more than 80 years. From opening doors to higher education and career pathways, to helping families break cycles of poverty, GED graduates prove every day that determination and resilience can change lives.
“National GED Day is about more than celebrating a credential — it’s about celebrating potential,” said CT Turner, President of GED Testing Service. “The GED empowers learners to move into college, apprenticeships, and in-demand jobs — from green energy to healthcare to advanced manufacturing. We are celebrating the opportunity to succeed and recognizing GED grads’ contributions to building a stronger workforce and economy for everyone.”

More than 40 million adults in the U.S. lack a high school diploma. For them, the GED credential provides a proven pathway to jobs, career training, and higher education. GED graduates uplift families, fuel local economies, and help build a stronger, more resilient workforce for the future.
National GED Day is officially registered with National Day Archives, ensuring this celebration of achievement and opportunity will continue for years to come.
