King Energy Wins Gold Stevie® for Sustainability Leadership in 2025

Winners to Be Celebrated During Event in Lisbon on 10 October

King Energy was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Sustainability Leadership Award category in The 22nd Annual International Business Awards® today.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2025 IBAs received nominations from organizations and individuals in 78 nations and territories.

Winners will be celebrated during a gala banquet at the Corinthia Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal on Friday, 10 October.

More than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. King Energy won Gold in Sustainability Leadership, standing out for its innovative multi-tenant solar model, which transforms unused commercial rooftops into long-term revenue for property owners and discounted clean energy for tenants. Judges praised the company’s “four-way win scenario—tenants, landlords, the environment, and shareholders”, its nationwide scalability, and its impact in low- and medium-income communities, where nearly half of installations occur.

King Energy’s results reflect measurable impact: tripling revenue in 2024, generating over 23 million kWh of clean energy, saving 16,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, and adding $110M in property value. Judges also recognized King Energy’s long-term stewardship, including investments in system maintenance, e-waste planning, and partnerships with Tribal Nations.

“Winning this Gold Stevie® Award is an honor that reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire King Energy team,” said John Witchel, CEO and Co-founder of King Energy. “We set out to make sustainability make financial sense for property owners, retailers, and communities nationwide. This recognition affirms that our model is not only innovative but transformative—delivering long-term value for our partners while driving real climate impact.”

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250 executives worldwide, who participated in the judging process in May – July.

“The 2025 International Business Awards have set a new benchmark for excellence,” said Stevie Awards President Maggie Miller. “Our winners have demonstrated remarkable ambition and achievement in reaching their goals. We congratulate them on their well-earned recognition and look forward to honoring them on stage in Lisbon on 10 October.”
