Salim Khoury appointed Executive Chairman of Upstream.

Upstream is proud to announce a major milestone in its growth  journey: the company has been acquired by Intersel, a global investor with deep expertise in the telecom sector and a strong presence across emerging markets. The acquisition represents a  significant vote of confidence in Upstream’s innovation, market success, and long-term strategy.

As part of the transaction, Mr. Salim Khoury, Chairman of Intersel, has been appointed Executive  Chairman of Upstream. Mr. Khoury brings over 35 years of experience in growing and scaling  businesses across emerging markets. He has played a pivotal role in driving growth across sectors  such as telecom and digital transformation and oversees multibillion-dollar investment portfolios.  His academic background includes an MBA from Manchester Business School and executive  education from both Harvard and London Business School. Mr. Khoury brings a global and culturally  diverse perspective that aligns with Upstream’s international footprint.

“I’m honored to take on this role and to join a company that has demonstrated such a strong track  record of digital innovation and impact,” said Salim Khoury. “Upstream’s global reach and market  potential are exceptional, and I look forward to working closely with the team to unlock new  opportunities for growth and transformation.”

“This acquisition is a strong vote of confidence in everything we’ve built,” added Dimitris Maniatis,  CEO of Upstream. “I am especially pleased to welcome Mr. Khoury as Executive Chairman. His  telecom expertise, market insight, and global reach will be instrumental as we scale our solutions and  expand into new markets.”

This transaction also marks the conclusion of Actis’s decade-long role as Upstream’s primary  investor, closing a valued chapter in our growth story.

Intersel’s expertise and market access are already opening doors and driving tangible opportunities  for Upstream in key markets – momentum that is expected to help the company accelerate its  growth even further.
