HNI Corporation (NYSE: HNI) today celebrated the official ribbon cutting of a new solar installation at HNI’s Highway 61 facility in Muscatine, Iowa. This project marks a significant milestone in local sustainability efforts.
The event brought together leaders from HNI, Muscatine Power and Water, local government, and community partners to commemorate the launch of the solar project, which represents a shared commitment to renewable energy and environmental stewardship.
The new solar installation, located on HNI’s Highway 61 campus, will provide clean, renewable energy to help power operations at the facility. This is HNI’s largest solar installation to date and will generate more than 1,500 MWh annually, equivalent to approximately 7% of the facility’s annual electricity consumption. The array will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
“This solar project is a testament to our continued commitment to advancing sustainability in our operations,” said Jeff Lorenger, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of HNI Corporation. “This project is a strong step forward in our broader sustainability strategy and reflects our ongoing efforts to advance our sustainability goals, including a focus on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reducing our carbon footprint.”
