Graduation Alliance acquires EdisonLearning’s school partnerships

Graduation Alliance acquires EdisonLearning's school partnerships

Graduation Alliance has acquired the management rights of EdisonLearning’s school partnerships — an online education solutions provider — to expand access to flexible, nontraditional pathways to high school graduation.

EdisonLearning delivers comprehensive educational content, resources, and support that helps schools engage diverse learners where they are, close opportunity gaps, and promote long-term student success. As part of the acquisition, seven Florida-based academies supported by EdisonLearning will now be supported as part of Achieve Learning — a newly established branch of Graduation Alliance that also includes access points in Ohio and Michigan.

“This acquisition represents a significant step forward in our mission to expand nationwide access to flexible learning pathways for every learner in need of an alternative route to a high school diploma,” said Dr. Shawn Smith, Graduation Alliance CEO. “We’re honored to partner with the school districts of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Osceola counties in Florida to strengthen these vital access points within each community.”

Chad Craycraft, formerly Graduation Alliance’s executive vice president and general counsel, has been appointed president of Achieve Learning.

“Every student deserves a learning environment that fits their life,” Craycraft said. “Achieve Learning delivers on the promising potential of every learner by removing barriers through flexibility and robust care.”

Dr. Smith noted that both Graduation Alliance and EdisonLearning are mission-driven organizations dedicated to delivering equitable, adaptable academic opportunities that equip students for life after graduation. EdisonLearning’s talented and experienced team further strengthens the education provider’s commitment to student-centered education.

“We continue to be inspired by the pace of growth at Graduation Alliance,” said Kyle Matter, Managing Director at KKR and Graduation Alliance board member. “This acquisition reinforces their position as a national leader in alternative education.”

Graduation Alliance has had more than 850 state and district partners across the country and has graduated nearly 30,000 students since 2007. This acquisition will further expand the education provider’s capacity to serve students and scale critical support services in key regions.
