Globalstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSAT), a next-generation telecommunications infrastructure and technology provider, today announces that construction has commenced to expand the size of the ground station in Singapore to support its third-generation C-3 mobile satellite system (MSS).

Singtel has hosted Globalstar’s ground station facilities in Singapore since 2008. The announced construction will add two additional 6-meter tracking antennas that will support Globalstar’s C-3 mobile satellite system and expanded service offerings across Southeast Asia.

“Singapore joins a growing list of countries including Spain, Japan, Canada and the United States where we are deploying additional Globalstar antennas,” said L. Barbee Ponder, General Counsel & Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Globalstar. “With today’s announcement regarding Singapore, we continue our longstanding relationship with Singtel to support next-generation satellite solutions to hundreds of millions of people throughout the Southeast Asia region.”

The additions in Singapore are the next iteration in a sweeping global expansion of approximately 90 new tracking antennas, with current in-motion deployments at Globalstar’s flagship station in Texas, and international upgrades in Spain and Japan.

Globalstar’s C-3 expansion represents a significant investment in the functionality, capacity, and future-proofing of the network that will support next-generation mobile satellite solutions to hundreds of millions of people around the world.
