Fortitude Re Donates $150,000 to BEN to Support Youth Education

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd., (“Fortitude Re”) today announced a $150,000 donation to the Bermuda Education Network (BEN) as part of its Fortitude Re 4 Good community partnership program. This contribution reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to education and community development across Bermuda.

The Bermuda Education Network is a nonprofit dedicated to improving public education by designing locally relevant curriculum and professional development programs for teachers and students. The donation will fund BEN’s educational programming, including the Fortitude Re Summer Reading Program, which provides primary-level students with additional academic support and enrichment experiences during the school break.

“At Fortitude Re, we believe that education is the foundation of a thriving community,” said Amanda Stewart, SVP, Employee Experience and Leader of Fortitude Re 4 Good. “Our partnership with the Bermuda Education Network reflects our commitment to helping every child reach their potential by ensuring equitable access to quality learning opportunities. By investing in youth literacy, we’re investing in Bermuda’s future.”

This latest contribution builds on Fortitude Re’s long-standing relationship with BEN. In 2025, the partnership included support for 47 students, with 98 percent demonstrating measurable learning gains. By continuing to invest in education, Fortitude Re 4 Good seeks to empower the next generation of Bermudian learners and ensure equitable access to high-quality educational resources.

“Fortitude Re’s continued partnership is making a remarkable difference for Bermuda’s students,” said Becky Ausenda, BEN Founder. “Their generous support allows us to provide a high-quality and transformative summer intervention, which year after year moves a significant number of eight-year-old students who are struggling with reading to proficiency and builds the foundation for future education success.”

The collaboration with BEN reflects Fortitude Re 4 Good’s focus on long-term community partnerships that enhance learning, promote sustainability, and strengthen local impact.
