CODE now offers unique institutional fiduciary training for retirement plan investment committee members
Callan, a leading institutional investment consulting firm, announced the addition of its latest course offering through the Callan On-Demand Education (CODE) portal. This new coursework, Framework for Defined Contribution Plans, covers important topics for 401(k) and other corporate or government DC retirement plan decision-makers. “Our research specialists and consultants have spent decades gathering and honing the information and insights offered in these courses,” said Callan’s Defined Contribution Practice Leader Greg Ungerman. “This coursework deepens learners’ understanding of the requirements of the defined contribution plan fiduciary, while offering insight into how investment committees make decisions.”
Topics include:
- DC Plan Fiduciary Training & Best Practices
- DC Plan Legal & Regulatory History and Trends
- Fund Performance Evaluation & Monitoring
- Designing DC Plan Investment Menus
- DC Plan Fee Studies & Monitoring
Other CODE courses cover topics ranging from introductory courses for college students, interns, and institutional investment industry newcomers, to advanced modules for asset management professionals, investment consultants, board trustees, and investment staff.
“By making this education broadly available at a reasonable cost and in a flexible format, we are hoping we can improve decision-making across the industry and ultimately create better outcomes for all stakeholders and participants,” said Callan’s CEO & Chief Research Officer Greg Allen.
Each CODE course is developed by Callan’s research specialists and is delivered in self-guided, digestible segments. Courses are designed for anyone wanting to learn more about institutional investing, including retirement plan sponsors, asset allocators, retirement plan trustees, investment managers, investment consultants, retirement plan recordkeepers, industry interns, and students interested in pursuing a career in institutional investment management.
