Bhargav Patel, CEO of Genuin, shares insights on AI-driven engagement, video-first experiences, and modern monetization strategies in a fragmented digital landscape.
Bhargav Patel, your journey spans from building high-growth AdTech ventures to now leading Genuin. What key experiences have shaped your perspective on AI-driven engagement and monetization today?
My time in AdTech was like having a front-row seat to both brilliance and chaos. We became great at targeting, maybe even too good, but somewhere along the way we forgot that behind every “user” is a real person who knows when she or he is being treated like inventory instead of a relationship.
The real turning point was watching brands and publishers pour millions into platforms where they didn’t actually own the audience. It’s like building a mansion on rented land where the landlord can evict you anytime. Not a great long-term strategy.
That frustration is what led to Genuin. The idea is pretty simple: AI doesn’t magically fix engagement or monetization. It just amplifies whatever you’re already doing, whether it’s good or bad. It can help you create faster, personalize better, and scale like crazy, but it can also destroy trust at the same speed if you’re not careful.
People haven’t changed. They still want content that feels real, relevant, and human. And they want it in environments they trust. AI just determines how quickly you earn that trust, or lose it.
Genuin is positioned as a generative infrastructure for engagement, experience, and revenue. How should businesses interpret this in practical terms when integrating it into their digital ecosystems?
Most companies are basically running a tech Frankenstein. One tool for content, another for community, something else for analytics, then a separate stack for monetization. None of them really talk to each other, and you end up optimizing for clicks and views instead of actual business outcomes.
Genuin flips that model. Think of it as a single, unified infrastructure layer that sits inside your ecosystem, not another tool you duct-tape on. When a business plugs into Genuin, they can create, curate, distribute, and monetize video-first experiences all in one place, across their own properties.
AI is doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes, figuring out what to show, who to show it to, and how to drive engagement that actually converts. So instead of juggling 10 dashboards and chasing vanity metrics, you’re building a system where content, community, and revenue are actually working together.
Immersive video sits at the core of your platform. What makes this format so effective in driving measurable outcomes like higher conversions and longer session durations?
Video works because it feels real. It’s the closest thing to actually being there without leaving your couch.
When you combine that with short-form and immersive formats, something powerful happens. You remove the gap between discovery and decision. People aren’t just browsing anymore, they’re experiencing.
Compare that to a banner ad randomly screaming at you on a webpage. That’s interruption. This is immersion.
When someone is in an environment they trust, watching content that actually feels relevant, their intent is completely different. They’re not being pushed. They’re leaning in.
That’s why we consistently see longer session times and higher conversions. The content isn’t competing for attention. It is the attention.
With AI increasingly prioritizing content scale, how does Genuin’s GenAI framework help brands retain a distinct voice and build genuine consumer relationships?
This is the question that keeps most brand marketers up at night, and rightly so. AI can crank out content at unbelievable scale, but without guardrails, everything starts to sound the same. Different brands, same voice. It’s like everyone’s reading from the same script.
With Genuin, we’ve flipped that. Our GenAI framework is built around each brand’s unique voice, its tone, context, and standards. We don’t let the model run wild. Strong guardrails keep the output consistent, compliant, and on-brand every single time.
This isn’t some vibe-coded AI experiment duct-taped together. We’ve built enterprise-grade SDKs that plug directly into a brand’s ecosystem. So customers get more than content generation. They get a reliable, scalable system they can actually run a business on.
You get the speed of AI, but with control, consistency, and infrastructure that makes it real. Because scaling content is easy. Scaling authenticity safely and reliably is where the real game is.
Trust in digital content is declining as generative AI grows. How does Genuin proactively ensure brand-safe environments rather than relying on post-issue moderation?
Trust is collapsing because the internet became a free-for-all. And post-moderation is basically damage control pretending to be strategy.
Instead, we build brand destinations, not open feeds. Every space is defined, owned, and purpose-built by the brand. It’s not a chaotic public square. It’s a curated experience where the brand controls the context from the start.
We think about the consumer journey as integrated, onsite and offsite. Discovery might happen on social or elsewhere, but when the consumer enters a Genuin-powered destination, the experience continues. Same context, same narrative, same intent. No jarring transitions, no randomness. That’s contextual continuity.
So instead of asking “How do we fix bad content after it shows up?” we design systems where the entire journey, on and off platform, is aligned, consistent, and inherently brand-safe.
That’s not moderation. That’s infrastructure. And honestly, it’s the upgrade the internet’s been overdue for.
The launch of Genuin Monetize introduces new revenue pathways. How do sponsored access formats reshape monetization compared to traditional advertising models?
Traditional advertising is fundamentally adversarial. It interrupts you, slows you down, and hopes you’ll care.
Sponsored access flips that completely. The sponsor isn’t interrupting the experience, they’re enabling it. You’re not forcing attention, you’re earning it. The consumer opts in because there’s a clear value exchange. No tricks, no friction, just “this brand made this experience possible.” That’s where zero-party data actually becomes real, not a buzzword, but an outcome.
Every brand destination inside the Genuin network becomes a monetization engine. Some brands will monetize directly. Others may not, but their product placements integrate seamlessly into media experiences across the network. So even if you’re not running ads, you’re still participating in a commerce media ecosystem aligned with your goals.
The goal isn’t value extraction (the old ad-tech playbook with lots of middlemen taking a cut). It’s value exchange across the network, where every impression is intentionally placed to maximize margin for partners, maintain contextual continuity, and stay relevant to the consumer’s intent.
For publishers, this is a massive shift. For the longest time, monetization was outsourced to third parties and control was lost. Genuin Monetize changes that. Partners can now offer session-level takeovers, owning an entire moment, whether it’s a post or a fully generative content experience. Top-funnel storytelling meets bottom-funnel conversion within a single, continuous experience.
So this isn’t just a new monetization model. It’s a shift from interrupt to enable, from extract to exchange, from fragment to curate. And once you see it that way, traditional advertising doesn’t just look inefficient. It looks outdated.
Fragmentation across tools and reliance on third-party algorithms remain persistent challenges. How does Genuin’s unified infrastructure streamline engagement across owned and external channels?
Fragmentation is basically a hidden tax on your business. Every extra tool, every disconnected platform adds ops overhead, leaks data, and breaks the consumer experience.
Genuin removes that chaos. We built a unified infrastructure that connects everything, your owned properties and offsite distribution, through a single orchestration layer. So instead of managing ten tools and hoping they play nice, you set your strategy once and the system executes it everywhere.
What does that actually mean? Whether a consumer discovers you on your app, a partner platform, or anywhere else in the network, they get a consistent, seamless experience. Same context, same narrative, same intent. No disconnects, no starting over. And importantly, you’re not at the mercy of third-party algorithms anymore. You’re not guessing how platforms will distribute your content. You’re controlling how your experience shows up across the ecosystem.
The result is streamlined execution, consistent engagement, and a connected consumer journey across channels. Less duct tape. More control. More growth. Because scaling a brand shouldn’t feel like managing chaos. It should feel like running a system.
How does the Monetize model function across both a brand’s owned platforms and the broader trusted open-internet network to create consistent value?
Most monetization models break the moment a user leaves your property. Different platforms, different rules, different experiences. It’s messy and inefficient.
Genuin Monetize fixes that by following the consumer, not the channel.
On a brand’s owned platform, it enables native sponsored experiences that feel like a natural part of the environment, not bolted-on ads. But it doesn’t stop there. Across Genuin’s trusted open-internet network, publishers, retailers, and consumer platforms, those same brands show up in environments where users are already engaged. And they show up consistently.
That’s the key: contextual continuity. The experience doesn’t reset just because the user moved. The story, the relevance, the intent, it all carries through. So instead of running separate strategies for owned and offsite channels, brands activate once across a connected ecosystem. Unified measurement tracks performance end to end, brand safety is built in not bolted on, and every interaction contributes to a cohesive consumer journey.
So you’re not juggling platforms anymore. You’re running one system that delivers consistent value wherever the consumer is. One strategy, one ecosystem, continuous value.
With over 200 million consumers reached through partners, how do you maintain contextual relevance and seamless experiences across such a diverse ecosystem?
Scale without context is just noise. Reaching 200 million people means nothing if the experience feels random.
Genuin works differently. We don’t operate like a catch-all open network trying to force one algorithm across everything. We work within defined, trusted partner environments. Each partner already understands their audience, their communities, their creators, their relationships. Our role is to enhance that, not override it.
Genuin’s AI layer plugs into these environments and contextualizes every experience based on what already works there. So instead of a one-size-fits-all feed, each consumer gets something that actually fits the space they’re in. Experiences feel native, not injected. Content stays relevant to the audience and the moment. And the journey remains consistent across the network.
We’re not centralizing control. We’re distributing intelligence. Each partner gets the tools to serve their audience better, and the network gets stronger from that shared signal. So relevance doesn’t get diluted at scale. It actually improves.
Because real scale isn’t about reaching more people. It’s about staying meaningful to each of them.
Looking ahead, how do you see video-first communities and AI-powered engagement models redefining the future of publishing, retail, and digital commerce?
The next phase of publishing, retail, and commerce won’t be won by whoever produces the most content. It’ll be won by whoever builds the most trusted relationships.
Video is the starting point. It’s the most natural way to engage, show up consistently, and build familiarity. But the real shift is toward integrated, trust-centered experiences that go beyond just video. Think video-first communities powered by AI-driven, generative experiences where content adapts to the consumer, interactions feel personal and continuous, and the experience evolves with the relationship. So a consumer isn’t just watching. They’re participating, exploring, and engaging within a brand ecosystem that actually understands them.
That’s where AI changes the game. It allows brands and publishers to scale meaningful interactions without losing relevance or authenticity. You’re not blasting content. You’re building ongoing relationships, dynamically. And when you connect these experiences across communities, you get a network where trust compounds over time, across touchpoints, formats, and moments.
So yes, it starts with video. But it quickly becomes something bigger, a fully integrated, generative experience layer connecting content, commerce, and community. The winners won’t be the ones with more impressions. They’ll be the ones who turn those impressions into trust, and that trust into lasting relationships.
