Brent Burger Joins Cinterra as COO

Cinterra, a national leader in utility-scale solar and electrical infrastructure services, today announced the appointment of Brent Burger as Chief Operating Officer. Burger will report directly to CEO Shelby Barbier and will oversee Cinterra’s day-to-day operations, project execution, and operational strategy.

This appointment signals Cinterra’s deepening commitment to operational excellence, scalability, and customer-first delivery. As COO, Burger will be instrumental in ensuring that clients experience greater predictability, performance, and accountability across every project lifecycle—from preconstruction through execution. His leadership will also drive continuous improvement, enhanced communication, and integrated project delivery across field and office teams.

“I’ve spent my career leading high-impact energy projects around the world—and I joined Cinterra because it’s rare to find a company that pairs national reach with world-class execution,” said Brent Burger. “Cinterra stands apart not just for its technical capabilities, but for its people, its safety culture, and its willingness to innovate in service of the customer. I’m excited to help scale this operational engine into a best-in-class model for the industry.”

“Brent brings unmatched experience in complex project execution and enterprise operations,” said Shelby Barbier, CEO of Cinterra. “His leadership will allow us to scale with precision, deliver with consistency, and meet growing demand while staying true to our core values. He understands what world-class looks like, and he’s here to help us operate at that level every day. Most importantly, Brent understands the needs of our clients and will be a powerful advocate for ensuring their experience with Cinterra reflects excellence at every touchpoint.”

Burger’s background includes over 30 years at Black & Veatch, where he served as Senior Vice President across operations, construction, estimating, and renewables business lines. He has led large-scale union and non-union EPC projects across North America and abroad, including Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and El Salvador. Most recently, he directed utility-scale solar, BESS, and offshore wind projects totaling over 1 GW in capacity.

He holds a B.S. in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and has completed Executive Education in Mergers & Acquisitions from the University of Chicago.
