Company operates nearly 100 generation projects from coast to coast, capable of powering more than 3 million homes
Avangrid, Inc., a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, today announced that it has surpassed 11 Gigawatts (GW) of installed capacity across its 25-state portfolio which includes nearly 100 operating U.S. energy projects. This milestone reflects Avangrid’s continued investment in U.S. energy generation while supporting the nation’s growing energy needs, bolstering regional economies, and empowering local communities.
“Eclipsing 11 GW of installed capacity is a powerful demonstration of Avangrid’s long‑term commitment to meeting the nation’s growing energy needs with reliable, responsible generation,” said Avangrid CEO Jose Antonio Miranda. “This milestone reflects years of investment, operational excellence, and collaboration with communities across the U.S. Not only are we proud of the power our fleet delivers, but the impact that we make as a trusted member of every city, county, and township we operate in.”
Avangrid’s growing portfolio is helping to meet a surge in energy demand across the country brought on by the proliferation of data centers powering the country’s AI revolution, combined with the development of new onshore manufacturing and ongoing electrification initiatives.
Recent additions to Avangrid’s installed capacity include:
- A 321 MWdc solar project in Texas;
- a 202 MWdc solar project in Ohio;
- a 57 MWdc solar project in California;
- and two Oregon solar projects with a combined 269MWdc.
The company maintains a pipeline of development projects with a variety of generation technologies to support future growth across the country.
While Avangrid projects reliably and safely produce electricity for homes, businesses, and industry, they are also important economic drivers. In 2025, Avangrid’s onshore projects paid a combined $61 million in local tax revenue, supporting public services including education and public safety. Additionally, the company supported over 80 local non-profit organizations on behalf of its operating projects last year, reinforcing its commitment to uplifting and empowering the communities where it operates.
In 2025, Avangrid’s fleet of projects generated 25,058 GWh of electricity. The Company owns and operates a mix of generation resources that contribute to its 11 GW of installed capacity, including wind, solar, hydropower, natural gas, and fuel cells.
