ASC26 Registration Open for Global University Teams

The ASC Committee has officially opened registration for ASC26 Student Supercomputer Challenge and will hold a briefing session at Supercomputing 2025 (SC25) in St. Louis on November 20, inviting university teams worldwide to apply through the official website by January 12, 2026. (https://www.asc-events.net/StudentChallenge/ASC26/Register.php)

The ASC26 competition will follow the established “Preliminary + Final” model, encompassing three stages: registration, preliminary contest, and on-site finals.

Competition Schedule & Format

  • Registration – Deadline: January 12, 2026

Universities are responsible for organizing and submitting team registrations via the official website. Each participating institution may register multiple teams, with each team consisting of one advisor and five undergraduate students.

  • Preliminary Competition – January 13 to March 4, 2026

Teams will submit a technical proposal focused on supercomputing application optimization.

  • Final Competition – May 16 to 20, 2026

Outstanding teams advancing from the preliminary round will compete on-site in China to:

  • Design and assemble small-scale supercomputing clusters
  • Perform optimization and benchmark testing
  • Solve advanced HPC and AI application challenges
  • Deliver English-language technical presentations and defenses

All finalist teams will contend for ASC26 honors including the Champion, Silver Prize, Group Competition Award, e-Prize, Highest Linpack, Best Presentation Team, and additional recognitions.
