Aprio, the 25th largest business advisory and accounting firm in the U.S., announced today its acquisition of Mangold Anker Phillips, PLLC (MAP), a tax, accounting, and business advisory services firm based in Austin, Texas. This combination enhances Aprio’s existing presence in Austin, adds new capabilities and positions the firm to deliver even greater value to clients across the region.
MAP has established a reputation for delivering tailored solutions across key industries, including real estate and construction, manufacturing, professional services, restaurants, and auto dealerships. MAP includes 14 partners and professionals who provide tax services, business valuation, litigation support, outsourced CFO and controllership, financial statement attestation, and payroll services.
“This acquisition is a step forward in Aprio’s mission to deliver future-focused solutions to clients across the country,” said Richard Kopelman, CEO of Aprio. “Austin is a dynamic market, and Mangold Anker Phillips brings deep experience, innovative talent, and a shared commitment to exceptional client service. Together, we are enhancing our ability to help clients navigate complexities and thrive in an increasingly interconnected business landscape.”
MAP, formed in 2020 through the merger of The Mangold Group, CPAs, PC, and Phillips Anker, PC, is recognized for providing broad and responsive services to individual tax clients, in-depth advisory services to businesses, forensic accounting, and valuation services.
This acquisition strengthens Aprio’s presence in Texas by complementing its existing offices in Austin and San Antonio. The expanded footprint enables Aprio to serve a wider client base and continue its rapid growth across key industries. The MAP team will transition to Aprio’s existing Austin office located in the Balcones Office Park.
“Our decision to join Aprio marks an exciting new chapter for Mangold Anker Phillips. Since the formation of our firm, we have been driven by a commitment to deliver tailored solutions and exceptional service to our clients,” said Thomas Mangold, managing partner of MAP. “Joining Aprio allows us to elevate that commitment by providing clients with access to innovative technologies, expanded resources, and a broader team of talented professionals. I am excited about the opportunities this combination creates for both our clients and our team.”
