Amira Learning receives dual approval under Colorado’s READ Act for both assessment and instruction in K-3 classrooms
Amira Learning (Amira), the leader in accelerating reading outcomes with AI and the Science of Reading, announced it has been re-approved for both assessment and instruction in all K-3 Colorado classrooms by the Colorado Department of Education for the 2025-2026 school year. Amira’s ISIP Assess and Instruct have been added to the state’s official READ Act Assessment and Instructional Programming lists for K-3 grades in both English and Spanish.
“Being added to Colorado’s approved READ Act solutions list is both an honor and a continuation of our commitment to literacy that began under the Istation name,” said Mark Angel, CEO of Amira Learning. “This approval brings continuity of existing proven assessment solutions Colorado schools already value and we’re committed to maintaining the trust educators have placed in us while bringing even more powerful literacy solutions to their classrooms.”
Validated by leading universities and state agencies, Amira’s universal reading screener, tutor and instruct solutions accelerate literacy outcomes by applying the latest in the Science of Reading and neuroscience with AI. Amira listens as students read aloud, capturing and analyzing 10x+ more measurement points than traditional assessments in 20 minutes or less. By more accurately identifying strengths and areas for growth, Amira delivers a highly valid and reliable reading assessment—helping teachers spot risk earlier and intervene with confidence.
Amira’s ISIP Assess and Instruct maintain full alignment with Colorado state academic standards and deliver powerful progress monitoring to support targeted, data-driven instruction.
Amira has demonstrated success with its reading screener nationwide. Its screener received unanimous approval for California’s mandatory K-2 screening requirements and received the highest rating among screeners for Georgia’s K-3 mandated assessments. Independent studies have consistently shown Amira has a significant effect on end of year literacy achievement for students who read with Amira 30 minutes each week, particularly for at-risk readers.
