American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and American Water Military Services Group, announced today it was awarded the 2024 Wastewater Plant Operations Excellence Award at Naval Station (NS) Mayport, Fla. by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). This recognition was based on overall treatment plant operation, maintenance, and compliance.
“American Water Military Services Group is honored to be recognized by the Florida DEP for its wastewater treatment plant operations at Naval Station Mayport,” said Sean Wheatley, President, American Water Military Services Group. “The award demonstrates our continued commitment to the military community. We are proud to provide drinking water and wastewater services to 18 military installations across the U.S.”
The award was presented at a ceremony during the Focus on Change seminar, hosted by DEP and the Florida Rural Water Association at Florida Gateway College, Lake City, Fla. in late March.
