Buildots acquires Genda to unite construction progress and workforce insights

Buildots acquires Genda to enhance AI-powered construction management.

Acquisition positions AI leader to unify productivity intelligence, and propels the industry further towards operational excellence

Buildots, the leader in AI-powered construction management, today announced its acquisition of workforce and safety management platform Genda. The move paves the way for Buildots to connect progress and workforce insights, advancing its vision of unifying construction delivery on a single platform – a feat that hasn’t yet been achieved in an automated, scalable manner.

Successful construction delivery depends on data-driven decision-making. Yet progress and workforce data are often fragmented, siloed, or missing entirely. The result: teams struggle to see what’s really happening onsite and isolate the best way to solve problems.

Buildots addresses this challenge through its accurate insights into progress, pace, and delay risk. Yet to deliver a full picture of productivity, workforce insights are also required. Buildots’ acquisition of Genda – which is funded by S3 Ventures, TenOneTen, ICI Fund and Jibe Ventures – brings unified productivity intelligence a step closer and paves the way for:

  • Full visibility into the relationship between labor, progress and productivity, including the root cause of inefficiencies.
  • A clear and immediate view of whether delay mitigation efforts actually move the needle.
  • Progress and workforce insights that can inform future planning and drive continuous improvement.

“This acquisition represents the next milestone on the industry’s journey toward operational excellence. When contractors use Buildots to spot delay risks and create mitigation plans, they naturally want to know which levers worked. Our goal is to make this crystal clear. No one has yet achieved a full understanding of construction productivity, so by bringing Genda’s data into our platform, Buildots is once again breaking new ground,” said Roy Danon, co-founder and CEO of Buildots.

“We’re entering a defining moment for construction. Accelerating the buildout of critical infrastructure and ensuring AI dominance is a priority for stakeholders worldwide. Buildots is already playing a pivotal role by putting AI and machine vision in the hands of advanced organizations building data centers, semiconductor fabs and battery factories. By combining its progress insights with Genda’s workforce intelligence, Buildots is set to create the world’s first ‘foundation model’ for construction and the physical world,” added Tal Morgenstern, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners and Buildots board member.

Genda’s CEO and founder, Erez Dror, will continue to oversee operations from its Austin base, and clients – including DPR, Hensel Phelps, Clark Construction, JE Dunn and ANDRES Construction – will experience the same exceptional service. Over time, Buildots’ greater resources, global reach, and investment in product innovation will further strengthen Genda’s workforce and safety management solutions.

“We founded Genda after growing frustrated by the lack of solutions to everyday construction challenges. Over the past six years, our team has become a crucial part of how household-name contractors approach workforce and safety management. We’re now opening a new chapter as part of Buildots. Together, we’ll shine a light on construction productivity to reveal hidden insights. The result will equip contractors to react faster to what’s happening, and also plan more effectively,” said Erez Dror, co-founder and CEO of Genda.
