AVAIO Digital Starts $6B Brandon Data Center Project

Work starts on $6 billion Taurus Campus

AVAIO Digital Partners (AVAIO Digital) today announced that site work is officially underway on its $6 billion Taurus Data Center Hub in Brandon, Mississippi. After executing an Agreement for Electric Service with Entergy in August, the start of site work on the 329-acre campus marks another important milestone in advancing the project, which will create a new center of gravity for cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure in the Southeast. The Taurus campus is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in the first half of 2027.

Yates Construction, a Mississippi-based nationally recognized leader in large-scale infrastructure projects, is the general contractor for the Taurus campus. By partnering with Yates, AVAIO Digital is reinforcing its commitment to supporting Mississippi jobs, businesses, and economic growth. Thousands of Mississippi tradespeople and skilled workers will be engaged throughout the multi-year construction effort.

“Breaking ground in Brandon is an incredible milestone, and we are excited to be making this commitment in Mississippi,” said Mark McComiskey, CEO of AVAIO Digital. “From the beginning, state and local officials and businesses have been engaged and supportive in making possible our vision of building world-class, 21st Century infrastructure in Mississippi. We are honored to work together on a project that will have lasting benefits for the community.”

AVAIO Digital and Yates Construction have placed an emphasis on responsible development. Clearing is being conducted with careful attention to minimizing impact, while irrigation improvements are being designed to enhance the long-term sustainability and resiliency of the campus. Water-efficient practices, rainwater recapture, and natural landscape buffers will be integrated into the site design as construction advances.

The AVAIO Digital Taurus campus is now fast- tracked for its first phase of construction- over 600,000 square feet of data center buildings and 116 megawatts of power capacity- to be completed and energized in the first half of 2027.
