Viega North America, a global leader in industrial, commercial and residential metal piping systems, has officially opened its new state-of-the-art manufacturing, distribution and training facility in Mantua, Ohio. The project marks a significant milestone in the company’s North American expansion strategy. Markus Brettschneider, CEO of the Viega Group, shared, “By increasing our manufacturing presence here, we aim to deliver products faster, give back to the local economy and ultimately continue innovating to meet the evolving needs of the industry. This facility serves as a testament of our unwavering commitment to our customers, today and for decades to come.” The facility was commemorated today by a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by company executives, government officials and local business development organizations.
Economic Impact and Community Partnership
“Today marks the continuation of a partnership that began two years ago when Viega committed to establishing its first Ohio production facility in Mantua,” said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. “Viega’s commitment to quality, combined with Ohio’s manufacturing expertise and strategic location in the heart of the North American supply chain, gives the company a competitive advantage.” The new 244,000-square-foot facility represents a $178 million investment in Portage County and will create approximately 68 new jobs for the region in the first two years.”
“Viega worked closely with local officials and economic development organizations throughout planning and construction and will continue building those partnerships as operations move forward. “Team NEO and JobsOhio are honored to help bring this investment to life that underscores the legacy of manufacturing in Ohio,” said Team NEO Chief Executive Officer Matt Dolan. “Viega’s decision to expand in Northeast Ohio not only brings jobs to the state but helps build a resilient economy.”
Cutting-Edge Manufacturing Technology
“We are dedicated to building strong connections with both our workforce and our customers,” said Marki Huston, CEO of Viega North America. “By integrating state-of-the-art production with hands-on training, we strive to not only advance innovation but also to provide our employees with meaningful opportunities to shape the future of the industry. This facility also allows our customers to engage with crucial industry education and witness production in real time, demonstrating firsthand our commitment to quality and the innovative solutions that will drive their businesses forward.”
A Commitment to a Sustainable Future
Huston emphasized that sustainability permeates every layer of the project, “The future of our environment and industry hinges on the commitment that we make today in sustainable manufacturing.
