Steffes Names Industry Veteran Mike Winn as Chief Executive Officer

Steffes today named Mike Winn as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 1. Headquartered in Dickinson, North Dakota, the company is a leading U.S. provider of steel fabrication and electrical services for a variety of diverse industries, including oil and gas, contract manufacturing and electric thermal storage. The company operates four total manufacturing facilities, with locations in Dickinson and Grand Forks, North Dakota and Shelby, North Carolina.

“Mike brings deep industry experience, practical wisdom and a genuine, people-focused leadership style that make him the perfect addition to our leadership team,” said Paul Steffes, founder and innovation advisor.

Steffes has evolved significantly in recent years, with new markets, growing teams and greater demand for products and expertise. The need for strategic clarity and alignment is critical as the company continues to grow.

“Appointing Mike as CEO gives us a single, dedicated leader to help focus, scale wisely and support our teams for the long term,” said Steffes.

Winn joins the company with more than two decades of leadership experience in engineering, manufacturing and distribution industries at small, large, private equity-backed and privately owned companies. His past companies have been both customers of and vendors to Steffes, giving him a unique and valuable perspective.

“I’m humbled to step into this role and truly looking forward to working with the employees and customers to shape the future for generations at Steffes,” said Winn. “My first priority will be getting to know the team. From there, everything else flows.”

Most recently, Winn served as CEO at Yates Industries, where he led efforts to scale the business. He has a demonstrated ability to drive growth, improve operational efficiency and foster strong relationships with customers and employees.

The Steffes leadership team looks forward to this next chapter with Winn at the helm.

“From the start, we were committed to finding someone who would be the right fit for our business, people and customers,” said Todd Mayer, co-president of Steffes. “I’m confident we have found that in Mike.”
