Build Group, Inc. Earns Three Honors in ENR West 2025 Best Projects Awards

Build Group recognized by ENR for outstanding Northern California projects.

Build Group, Inc., a leading general contractor based in Northern California, is proud to announce that three of its recent projects have been recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) in its 2025 Best Regional Projects Awards for Northern California.

In Sunnyvale, California, The Martin was named Best Residential/Hospitality Project, celebrating a transformative mixed-use development designed to meet the growing demand for luxury living in the heart of Silicon Valley. The Martin exemplifies Build Group’s commitment to high-performance residential construction, lifestyle-forward design, and collaboration with innovative development partners.

Since opening to residents in June 2024, The Martin – two 12-story luxury apartment towers (479 units) offers a range of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences. The Martin is surrounded by retail restaurants, cafes and entertainment options, enhancing The Martin’s appeal as a dynamic, walkable neighborhood and a centerpiece of the new Cityline downtown Sunnyvale district.

In West Oakland, Prescott Station (also known as 2121 Wood Street) earned ENR’s Excellence in Safety Award, recognizing Build Group’s unwavering commitment to creating a safe and secure work environment on a complex modular project with tight urban site constraints. Through a blend of rigorous Cal-OSHA compliance, Build Group’s own elevated safety programs, and a human-centered approach that connected PPE usage to workers’ personal priorities, the team achieved exceptional safety performance. The result is a model for how a strong safety culture can drive accountability, protect people, and deliver quality construction without compromise.

The Henry J. Kaiser Auditorium in Oakland, California received the Award of Merit in the Cultural/Worship category, honoring the thoughtful restoration of this historic civic landmark. Originally opened in 1914, the auditorium has been meticulously revitalized to preserve its architectural legacy while integrating modern structural, seismic, and sustainable enhancements to support community use for generations to come.

“These projects represent the heart of what we do — bringing together talented teams to create spaces that enrich lives and strengthen communities,” said Nathan Rundel, co-founder and president of Build Group. “We’re grateful to ENR for recognizing the skill, precision, and purpose that went into both projects, and we celebrate this achievement with all of our partners, clients, and team members.”

With a relentless commitment to building excellence, Build Group continues to deliver standout projects across commercial, civic, residential and cultural spaces throughout the western states of the country.
