Amperon

New AI-powered Real-Time Price Forecasting product provides unparalleled accuracy to optimize financial returns

Amperon, a leading provider of AI-powered energy forecasting and analytics solutions, announced the launch of its Real-Time Price Forecast product in the ERCOT market.

This new product allows market participants to optimize balance of the day trading strategies, charging and discharging operations, and energy bidding through enhanced predictions of peaks and insights into intraday market conditions. The new product builds on the company’s industry-leading Day-Ahead (DA) Price Forecast, enabling users to seamlessly integrate both forecasts to identify market opportunities.

“We built our Real-Time Price Forecast for the next generation of market participants who need to move faster, smarter, and with more confidence,” said Sean Kelly, CEO of Amperon. “As ERCOT evolves with more renewables, batteries, and flexible assets, our customers—from small funds to large IPPs—need highly accurate forecasts that reflect real-time volatility. This launch is a major leap forward for Amperon and the broader energy ecosystem.”

Amperon’s Real-Time Price Forecast delivers a 3-day (72 hour) forecast through its API that offers 5-minute granularity, updated every 5 minutes for all zones and hubs in ERCOT.

Built to support a wide range of ERCOT market segments, this product is particularly useful for Financials, IPPs, Battery Operators, large C&I load, and more. During a price spike on April 2nd 2025, caused by a combination of solar ramping down and less than expected wind generation, our Real-Time Price Forecast was able to predict the peak.
