Firebird Energy Offers a Clean Energy Option

The Protein Coffee Combination Is Formulated to Provide Convenient, Sustainable Energy — Which Is a Reflection of Its Resilient Backstory

The modern world moves at breakneck speeds. Consumers are constantly on the lookout for products that offer effective energy solutions without sacrificing their health in the process. Firebird Energy is a clean energy product from New Zealand that is revolutionizing the energy market through a transparent formula that focuses on two key ingredients: protein and coffee.

Health-conscious individuals are looking for more natural sources of energy that avoid synthetics and sugars found in traditional energy drinks. Firebird Energy meets this growing criteria through a beautifully simple blend that includes:

  • 150 mg of caffeine from fresh-brewed coffee.
  • 16 g of Milk protein concentrate
  • Less than 1 g of sugar

The resulting beverage has a low caloric profile of 77 total calories and contains natural sources of caffeine. The protein blend consists of 20% whey protein for quick bioavailability and 80% casein for long-lasting, slow-absorbing energy endurance. There are no artificial colors or preservatives.

The story behind Firebird Energy is just as compelling as the energy beverage itself. Founder and first responder Shaun Winstanley was shot in the face while confronting an armed shooter in downtown Auckland in July of 2023. During his lengthy recovery, he couldn’t eat solid foods and resorted to mixing protein into his coffee. This experimental phase led to the development and refinement of his breakthrough formula.

“I’d been making these protein coffees because I love caffeine, and I know the importance of protein,” Winstanley said in a recent interview. “I’ve just always been active and know the importance of that, so I was making these things at home out of a shaker, some ice, pod coffee, a little bit of water and a little bit of protein, and I think I said to the surgeon one day, he said, ‘you going well?’ Yeah, it’s the protein coffee.”

One day, Winstanley told his wife that he was going to turn his new discovery into a business. “I’d been doing a little bit of research in my free time, which I had all of a sudden,” he said. He saw an opportunity to commercialize his new drink to make it accessible to others facing their own challenges and low-energy needs.

Winstanley’s entrepreneurial journey started rough but quickly corrected as he learned how to pilot his own company. He found a great food tech, business partners, and mentors. He also settled on a name for the company.

“I came up with the name Firebird because it’s another name for the phoenix rising up from the ashes,” he said, adding that he initially wanted to hide his own story behind the symbolism. He doesn’t like doing interviews and talking about his experience, but he’s found that the power of his experience is too good not to share. The reactions and inspiration he’s seen from others have encouraged him to press on in the pursuit of offering clean, healthy energy options that can fuel people as they overcome obstacles and chase their dreams.
