Beyond Code Collective Opens The Forge Workforce Innovation Hub

First Forge Residency, Designed to Support Learners of All Ages and Backgrounds, Launches in Atlanta in Partnership with Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center

Beyond Code Collective, a new nonprofit organization that bridges the gap between inspiration, training, and employment in technology by connecting learners to educational content and opportunities to develop cutting-edge technologies, today announced the launch of The Forge with the opening of its first Forge residency site in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Forge is a new network of intergenerational, site-specific hubs that blend technology education, community engagement, and workforce development under one roof. The Forge: ATL, hosted within North Star AI Labs at Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), will offer free programming two days a week, beginning on March 21 through August 2026.

“We are thrilled to formally launch The Forge, designed to be a true ‘third place’ that is neither school nor work, where middle schoolers sit alongside mid-career professionals, and families with their kids, as they explore AI and emerging technology in a safe space to ask questions without fear or shame,” said Cristina Mancini, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Beyond Code Collective. “At Beyond Code, we believe that everyone should have a role in shaping tomorrow’s technology, and The Forge allows us to not only give people access to tools, but the community support and space to explore these tools, so they are empowered to confidently shape the future of technology and work.”

To celebrate the residency, The Forge hosted an opening event on March 9, convening some of Atlanta’s leading educators, technologists, and community leaders. Panelists at the event included Georgia Representative Kim Schofield, Technology and Social Impact Strategist Darrell Booker, and Professional Basketball Player Ramón Clemente.

The Forge builds on Beyond Code’s proven model to expand opportunity in emerging technologies, including AI. Designed in collaboration with local stakeholders, each Forge center delivers culturally responsive programming to its community, serving K-12 students and adults seeking pathways into tech-driven careers.
