Veolia Posts Strong Results Advancing U.S. Environmental Security

North America’s 3.6% organic revenue growth in 2025 and $5.3 billion in revenue, including Water Technologies, are key contributors to Veolia’s global $50.11 billion revenue

The successful execution of Veolia’s GreenUp program in 2025 met or exceeded all financial targets, setting precedent for 2026 goals while expanding growth boosters: hazardous waste capacity, water treatment services / technologies and PFAS management in North America

Four 2025 acquisitions in the hazardous waste booster, including a major one to create a national platform, accelerated growth in this critical service for industrial expansion in the U.S.

Veolia continued to develop its PFAS treatment capabilities and strengthen its position as a leader in water and water technologies in the U.S.

Veolia, the world leader in environmental services, released powerful 2025 financial results that demonstrated the success of its GreenUp growth strategy, fostering environmental security by meeting the world’s growing need for clean water, resilient energy and safe waste management.

Financial figures show Veolia’s global revenue increased 2.8%2 to $50.11 billion in 2025, while global earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 6.3%3 to $8.0 billion1. Revenues in North America increased 3.6% on a like-for-like basis to $3.6 billion1, driven mainly by the success of the Hazardous Waste and Regulated Water divisions. Combined revenue for Veolia in North America, including Water Technologies, reached $5.3 billion1.

Demand for our services has never been higher worldwide. From Asia Pacific to the Americas, Europe to the Middle East, environmental security is now central to industrial competitiveness, community resilience, and territorial sovereignty. Veolia offers unique proprietary solutions for critical needs, and a global platform, enabling us to serve clients across five continents with locally-tailored solutions backed by global expertise. We are hence fully confident for 2026 and beyond,” said Estelle Brachlianoff, CEO of Veolia Group. “In 2025, we made two major acquisitions in Water Technologies and U.S. hazardous waste, accelerating the group transformation towards more international and technology driven: more than 8.5b€ of assets will have been rotated during GreenUp. We start 2026 stronger, more agile, with significant growth potential ahead.”

Results confirm strong positioning and GreenUp strategy
Veolia’s growth in North America contributed substantially to the company’s robust performance in 2025, as the company identified its strongest markets and accelerated its transformation to provide the services that are most in demand, in response to mega-trends such as reshoring, protecting public health and fighting pollution. In the United States, that includes a strong focus on handling and treating hazardous waste with Veolia’s locally-tailored solutions. Veolia’s scheduled acquisition of Clean Earth in 2026 and the opening of a new state-of-the-art hazardous waste incinerator in Gum Springs, Arkansas will enhance these efforts going forward as well.

“Our North American operations are experiencing unprecedented momentum across all our strategic growth areas,” said Nadege Petit, CEO of Veolia in North America“Veolia’s comprehensive capabilities and nationwide reach position us as the essential partner for businesses navigating complex environmental challenges, from regulatory compliance to operational resilience. The investments we’ve made  including strategic acquisitions and expanded treatment capacity  have fundamentally strengthened our market position. Looking ahead to 2026, we have robust momentum and clear pathways for continued expansion in the services that matter most to America’s environmental security and industrial future.”

In the United States, businesses and communities need to safeguard water supplies, control pollution, protect public health, meet regulatory requirements, build strategic independence and create the conditions for successful industrial reshoring. Veolia’s tailored solutions combine global expertise and local experience in the fastest-growing markets for critical environmental services.

Hazardous waste acquisitions expand Veolia’s reach in America
Veolia last year entered into an agreement with Enviri to acquire Clean Earth, which if approved will double Veolia’s hazardous waste footprint in this fast-growing sector. After closing, this will be a transformative acquisition that gives Veolia a nationwide operational platform, wider market coverage and an advanced portfolio of technical capabilities. It will also enable Veolia to strengthen its presence in thriving industries such as retail and healthcare, allowing it to offer a full range of environmental services across the United States.

This comes after Veolia closed four other hazardous waste acquisitions in 2025 that enhance both its regional coverage and treatment capacity:

  • In Massachusetts, Veolia acquired two hazardous waste treatment site and emergency response operations: New England Disposal Technologies and New England Med Waste, which operates the state’s only permitted medical waste treatment and storage facility.
  • On the West Coast, Veolia acquired a major platform in California through Ingenium, adding extensive packaging, logistics and multi-stream treatment capabilities across hazardous, biological and radioactive waste.
  • In the semiconductor industry, Veolia acquired Chameleon Industries Group, a Texas-based producer of specialty chemicals. The company’s circular economy technology recycles byproducts from semiconductor manufacturing, reducing waste and creating products that benefit the industry.

Veolia is also growing its North American capacity in the vital undertaking of managing regulated PFAS compounds, with its wide range of solutions to treat PFAS in its Regulated Water operations as well as its end-to-end BeyondPFAS offering that spans testing, treatment and disposal. This comes as Veolia’s Water Technologies expertise – a booster of GreenUp – continues to expand its business serving industries in North America that, faced with the challenges of quantity, quality and health, depend on high-quality and high-precision water service.
