Paragon Films, a leading manufacturer of ultra-high-performance, sustainability-focused stretch films, today announced the company received the Recycling Leadership Honorable Mention from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) for outstanding utilization of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content.
The only stretch film manufacturer to receive APR distinction in 2026, Paragon Films received the honorable mention for the company’s Beyond PCR machine stretch film, which incorporates 25 percent certified domestic post-consumer recycled content in a 39-gauge format.
Beyond PCR 39 gauge delivers performance to compete against other 55- to 65-gauge machine films while reducing virgin resin use by 54 percent—preventing approximately 490 metric tons of CO₂ emissions per million pounds produced. The ultra-thin machine film is part of the company’s Sustainability Without Sacrifice™ product line, which is designed to help customers reduce virgin plastic use and promote circularity in transportation packaging.
The APR Recycling Leadership Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose outstanding innovations are shaping the future of plastics recycling. The APR Recycling Leadership Awards program was established in honor of the 30th anniversary of the APR Design® Guide for Plastics Recyclability, which provides technical guidance to thousands of companies on how to design plastic packaging for recyclability.
“We are pleased to honor leading changemakers with the second annual APR Recycling Leadership Awards,” said Steve Alexander, APR President & CEO. “The APR Design® Guide is widely recognized across the globe as the authority on plastics packaging design for recyclability. We commend those who are driving significant change across the value chain.”
